Vedat Muriqi converted a penalty for Mallorca in the 43rd minute to make the score 2-1. Pol Lozano of Espanyol received a yellow card during the same incident leading to the penalty.

Espanyol will face Mallorca again in the reverse LaLiga fixture later this season.
